The country’s best super and pension funds will be recognised at Chant West’s seventh annual Super Fund Awards on 22 May 2019.
The Awards will recognise excellence across 12 award categories, including Super Fund of the Year and Pension Fund of the Year, and showcase industry best practice to help lift standards across the super industry and improve member outcomes.
The theme this year is: ‘It’s all about the members!’ recognising what super and pension funds are doing for their members to help them get the most from their super.
Chant West’s Head of Research Ian Fryer said: “All eyes have been on the superannuation industry in recent times, with both the Productivity Commission and Royal Commission highlighting areas of weakness in our industry. And in particular, some funds have been shown to have failed their members.
“These inquiries have put super fund members and their interests front and centre, which is exactly where they should be. Superannuation is all about them!
“While we will recognise the best funds in our Awards this year, the purpose of our Awards goes beyond that. By recognising what makes the best super funds stand out from the crowd, we aim to help all funds improve retirement outcomes for their members because other funds adopt great ideas from what they learn on the night,” Mr Fryer said.

About the Chant West Super Fund Awards
The main criteria Chant West uses for rating funds are shown in the table below. As in previous years, the winner of our premier awards, Super Fund of the Year and Pension Fund of the Year, will have to show strength across the board, but especially in the key areas of Investments and Member Services, which carry the highest weighting in the scoring process.
